Adult Acne Cures.
What Causes Adult Acne
Anyway?
During all my years as an acne sufferer, I
searched and searched for adult acne cures and why I was
stuck with this terrible affliction. Sure there are worse
things that I could have been stricken with. I mean, I was
basically healthy. I came from a good home etc. But the
thing is whey you have acne and especially adult acne --
there is an inner hell that no one knows about but
you.
But I digress. I did research
for many many years, always looking for an answer as to why i
had acne and adult acne and for adult acne cures. I always
thought that there was some "other" reason why I had
it.
But the truth is/was that
acne and adult acne is pretty much caused by the
following:
SEBUM. I hate that word. I heard it over and over for years.
But sebum is what causes your adult acne to flare up. What is
sebum? According to Free Dictionary .com , Sebum is "The fatty
substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of mammals that
protects and lubricates the skin and hair."
According to WebMD, "Sebum clogs pores, which attract
bacteria and become inflamed. For most adults, break outs
are a result of hypersensitivity to androgens (male
hormones). But an imbalance in both male and female hormones
(estrogen) can also cause break outs. For women, this can
happen during pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause. Some
medications, such as corticosteroids, and cosmetics are also
triggers."
So How Do You Get Rid Of Adult Acne?
This is the million dollar question. What works for
teenagers is not necessarily the best thing for adults who are
struggling with acne. Many of the teen acne treatments dry out
the skin of an adult thus irritating it and making matters
worse.
First, you must be sure to keep a regimen of washing your
face. But you want to use gentle cleansers that will not
irritate and make things worse. Cetaphil and Aqualin are two
gentle cleansers that may work for you. You are better off
using your hands instead of a rough wash cloth as well.
You should try to wash your face a couple of times a
day if you can. This may be difficult for many adults due to
works schedules etc. If you can not wash your face during the
day, at least try to keep it as clean as possible.
Also, when you wash you should wash with warm water. If the
water is too hot it can irritate the skin and make matters
worse.
Beyond that, an adult acne cure is really an individual
process. What works for you will not necessarily work for me --
It is a matter of trial and error.
The thing to do in my opinion is too test
different products and regimens to see what is most
affective. It maybe simple over the counter meds. It any me a
combination of prescription antibiotics along with benzoyle
peroxide. It may be a combination of the two or neither.
Unfortunately the only way to tell what will work for you
and what will not is time.
I have always found that if something is going to work, it
usually starts working rather quickly. If after a week or two
you see no visible positive results, you should probably move
on to the next possible solution to cure your adult acne.
